Our new report and its findings aim to understand and uncover key behaviours, trends and drivers in Muslim giving. 

As well as surveying 1,000+ UK adult Muslims we held a number of focus groups across age groups to gain a sense of how and why people give their Zakat, if it’s just during Ramadan and what charities can do to build their motivation to donate. 

The results have unveiled the generosity this group represents:

  • UK Muslims gave 4x more in the last 12 months than UK average 
  • Almost half (49%) are planning to give more to charity in the next year
  • 3 in 4 have already donated to support individuals impacted by the war in Gaza
  • 1 in 2 are open to giving their Zakat to charitable organisations
  • Ease and transparency are crucial motivators when it comes to giving  

From what we’ve found out so far, those who are eligible should be considering how they can do more to outreach and communicate to this audience with a year round programme of engagements to build awareness, trust and impact.
