Giving in the UK is changing.

Like every year, we asked 2,010 people in the UK about their giving habits — what motivates them to give, and what holds them back — with some surprising results:

We uncovered:

  • More people are giving: Nine in 10 UK adults reported donating in 2024, representing an additional 4M+ donors year over year. Mean donation value held steady at £169.
  • Sector-wide donor growth: National, international, and animal and environmental organisations saw substantial increases in donor volume.
  • The rise of young donors: Those aged 25-34 have the highest propensity to give in the next 12 months out of all age groups, and a higher mean gift value (£309).
  • High-value donor regions: London, Scotland, and Northern Ireland produce the highest-value donors, with the largest average gift values by location.
  • Faith-driven generosity: Donors of faith are more likely to give again in the year ahead, with UK Muslims giving an average gift of £373.
